I agree on the Olds models. Just when they were getting some cool designs, they killed the brand...typical GM:|

too bad the engines still sh*t.

If that's not enough for you, TRD makes a supercharger that retains the factory warranty while bringing HP to ~300.

how much? if that kit and installation drives the cost up past z350/g35 level then its worthless.

2700 for kit alone.

Looks like a cross between last gen CL, last gen Tiburon and the new Accord coupe. Interior looks like it's been ripped off the Accord too.
I thought Toyota/Lexus was only copying Mercedes. I guess I was wrong.

What is your point? People in the market for a Solara aren't looking at the G35 or 350Z. I'm still not seeing what your gripe is. The Solara is a competitor for the Accord Coupe. Neither car is gonna win any hearts of sports car fanatics.

What an ugly POS. Luckily this caters to the American taste and will not come to Europe looking like this *hoping*...

People looking for a Solara with a TRD supercharger sure as hell are looking at G35 coupe.

How many Camrys or Solara do you see have TRD kits on them? Toyota's average buying age is 48. The TRD stuff is for the kiddies who think that 225HP and 240 lb-ft isn't enough.

The arguement is about how a TRD supercharger brings the solara price up to the G35 price territory. Now whether anyone actually buys the SC is a different question, that doesn't change that people buying a TRD SC, who clearly care about performance, are or should be considering the G35 coupe.

I actually liked the previous Solara, the styling was somewhat bland but it was inoffensive and looked better than the Camry sedan. They're a good value on the used market, too, if you can find one.

If someone's heard they had problems, was the V6 the same one that was affected by the sludge problem for a while there? NFS4?

As for the new one, it looks terrible. I don't like the styling of the SC430 and that was obviously the inspiration for the fugly rear end. It's still a nice value, but that's an ugly car. :(

The front looks very nice. The rear looks terrible. Ah well, maybe it will lure a few soccer moms away from H2s.

Quite a few actually. There are two turbocharged (custom) Camrys running around T.O. (one of them has same gen Camry as yours Brandon) and there is one 91 Corolla with a custom turbocharged 2.2L 4-cyl (from the Camry) transplanted into that Corolla. Its a sleeper...looks 95% stock from the outside (apart form slight drop and wheels)...and its FREAKING FAST!!

Anyway back to SOlara...very nice interior...looks like it came straight out of the Accord (with minor re-arrangement of buttons)..whats up wiht hte front end? Why the hell does Toyota intend on stretching out its headlights all the way back?? Looks fugly, but the profile is nice.

Bottom line, I like the previous Solara better.
