Quote from the article:
the CTS-V is, and by some margin, the best car I've tested wearing any GM logo. It's also more than capable of competing with the established Euro sedans. On an even footing, no excuses needed.

They still don't like the relatively cheap materials used in the interior. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the exterior either even in V trim, but DAMN, the performance sounds fantastic.

I never cared for the new Cadillac styling until I saw a CTS in person.
Its a very sharp looking car and it does have a very distinct styling.
No one would dare to call Cadillac styling "BLAND".

I like the CTS alot. It may look funny, but that's part of the appeal. I might even take one over a G35 sedan. And this CTS-V... Well it owns BMW, that's for certain. And Audi's 400hp car may look better, but you can't get it with a manual.

Smoking powertrain, decent looks, crappy interior (for the money).
The dash's material looks like that in the latest Accord, but the more expensive Cadillac can't match the Honda for the soft, tactile feel of its interior materials.

Ditto for the center stack which still needs upgrading if Cadillac wants to take on the Euros (especially Audi) on an even footing. It might look good enough for a Malibu, but it's not upscale enough for a car that wants to talk trash to the best the world has to offer.
I still like it though

More softly suspended than the M3 (and you really notice its more comfortable ride on the street), the CTS-V was nonetheless fully capable on the ultrahigh-speed corners of Road America, with body control easily the equal of, and most probably superior to, Audi's S4 and Mercedes' C32 AMG.
Sounds pretty damn good to me!

It's too bad this car is so damn expensive or else I'd seriously consider getting one. I mean it's priced more or less appropriately for the class but my eyes are bigger than my wallet. :D

I don't personally care too much about interiors as long as it doesn't look as bad as say a cavalier. It just has to be solid, clean looking and not rattle as the miles pile on.

The thing is though, the other day this guy at work was talking so much sh*t about the corvette. He's like, "I bought a new corvette like two years ago and it was the worst POS car I've ever driven. That car had so many problems, I got rid of it after six months." Gives me pause on another GM car. :Q

I think consumer reports rated the Corvette with bad reliability (solid black circle). At the same time it got the best mark of satisfaction (solid red circle)

$50,000 for a GM car? Yeah right. I'd rather go with BMW, Acura, or America's #1 luxury automaker: Lexus.

I'll tell you this: Ford, GM, and Chrysler still have a LONG way to go before matching up with foreign automakers.

I do admit the car looks nice.

You can have your 260hp, FWD Acura. I'll take the 400hp RWD Cadillac.

Everyone is free to post car threads to bump their postcount.
I think some people here just genuinely like to discuss cars. I like to see other people's reactions to new models.

Between the CTS-V and the XLR, Caddy is quickly making a good name for themselves once again :)

Daddy like!

Just don't know how I could ever justify spending that much on a single car :(

Regarding the brakes... "The rears are even larger at 365mm"

Umm... WTF???:confused::confused: I guess it's to make up slightly for the car's forward weight balance? Or mebbe just for blingin since the swept area of the brakes and pressure might actually be less than the fronts. Makes me wanna drive this SOB... looks like it's going to be a 4dr ZO6. :D

Ohhh... I know I could. I'd just have to have the right finances first. :p

I like the V :) I hope they sell a few, I'd love to see what the Corvette community would do with them.

Cadillac claims a 4.6-second 0-to-60-mph time which is entirely believable considering the way that the LS-6's 395 lb-ft of torque is transmitted through the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, also sourced from the Z6. Even the top gears fail to blunt its thrust and on Road America's long back straight, the CTS-V hit the same top speed as this editor attained on the same track just two months ago on a two-wheeled superbike. Cadillac boasts that the CTS-V tops out at an autobahn-devouring 163 miles per hour, again superior to the BMW numbers, but in this case because the German company chooses to electronically limit its cars to 156.

:Q

0-60 in 4.6, with a top speed of 163. I'm gonna go cry...and buy my powerball tickets...
