First DIY Comp...HELP!!

Alright, I got everything in the computer and it's all brand new. I go to turn it on for the first time, and it all fires up and is operational sounding. The problem is that the monitor acts like there is absolutely no signal.
I have tried two different processors and two video cards.
I've drained the CMOS and nothing has worked.
The second video card I put in has a cooling fan and it didn't turn on at all when I turned on the system.
PLEASE HELP!!

First off, let us know what you've got. A complete rundown of hardware would really be helpful. Then let us know what O/S are you trying to load - WinXP Home, Win98SE, etc. Initially from your description it sounds like possibly a dead mobo.

I'm building a sub $400 for my grandfather.
Here you go...
Chip: Athlon XP 2400+ w/ 266MHz FSB
Mother Board: Shuttle AK32VN Mainboard
Vid Card: Radeon 7000 (32MB)
Power: 300 Watts of what came with the $30 case
HD: Samsung 80Gig 2MB buffer
RAM: Centon 512MB DDR266

DVD drive and Floppy Drive
Pretty much the cheapest of everything.

I just hooked up the chip and the video card into my computer and they both work.
I am now loading Windows XP Pro on the Samsung HD.

My guess was the MoBo but I just want to make sure since everything but the videocard works in the MoBo.

Yep, try a different P/S. Take a look at the label at the wattage rating for the +3.3V and +5V. Generally anything rated at 180 watts and above is pretty safe.

I tried a different power supply and that didn't help either.
I took the mobo back and got a new one and it all works now. The old one was doa.
Thanks for the help!
