ha ha this happened to me one time, but I got a flat coming of the golden gate ...good thing it wasn't on the bridge..I probably would have rode the rims to get off...the next date I fried my clutch on the streets of SF.
I made her laugh so she didn't mind..maybe she felt sorry, although she has bad luck too...anyways we've been together for 4 years now!

Hey man happens. I was over at this girl's place once and when I left and got in the car it wouldn't start. It was like 3 in the morning so you can guess where I spent the night;):D. Went the next day and figured out my ignition coil was dead.

Back to important topics; Does this girl have a hot friend?

Man, on my graduation day I was driving home in my 68 Ford Torino GT going 80 miles down the Highway from Killeen, TX to Copperas Cove, TX. As I was driving along, I BOOM happened and a horrible rattling noise followed. I was scared out of my mind. I pull to the side of the road and find out that one of my tires had EXPLODED. Wow, I was wearing a Tuxedo and my gown and cap for graduation. I had to change the tire and it sucked real bad. I got the Tux dirty (Thankfully I owned it and it wasn't rented out). The girl who I was giving a ride home was scared also, but she helped me change the tire and we were on the road again. Thank goodness nothing worse happened, I don't want to graduate just to die :( Everything worked out though :)

Yeah sure, your "ignition coil" was "dead".

3rd st Santa Monica is a nice pleasant and upscale outdoor mall by the beach. We later sat on the beach together later in the evening. Aside from the flat tire incident, I thought it went pretty well.

She was patient with me and said 'don't worry, stuff happens, you are taking care of it.'

Yeah you guys are right, I didn't swear, become angry, lose my patience and I got her home safely. I guess I just wanted everything to go right, but sh*t happens.

Too early to say where it'll go, but thx for the support guys.

as a woman, I see no reason at all why that would make her not like you. Seriously, just FORGET it happened and go on as you were planning :) If anthing, *joke* (once) about it the next time you two do something.

The sucky part is if you didn't know her at all before this. If you met her at a random bar and got her number and don't really know her at all, it'll be a turn off just because in that case the first date IS a first impression. If it wasn't fun, thats whats gonna stick in her head as her image of you. However, if you had any background knowledge of each other, then she'll understand that it wasn't your fault and readily go out again.

Good luck man

I love my full size spare.

On that same note, I once put 2 donut spares on the front wheels of my prelude and roasted them to oblivion ( I blew the front passenger one :p )

Huh? Are you female, Stone Cold? I'm just curious because you affirm your statement there as if you know women very well. Are you really female?

I know that statement would not apply to me at all, as a female. I for one would be more turned off if his tire went flat few minutes before our appointment and then he shows up late. That alone would make me not even have much fun with the whole date or not want another date at all.

However, with the circumstances mentioned in this case, the only way I would turn this guy off is if he acts like a wimp as he has by opening this thread. I can understand that he's inexperienced, but come on . . . that's excessive whining. A guy who stands up and gets things fixed whilst getting to know me more impresses me more than a wimp who's getting all too nervous and trying to impress me. A date is supposed to be something fun . . . and you learn through trial and error. Other girls may perceive it differently, but that's how most perceive it, I believe.

and if she formed a positive impression, it could EVEN be sort of fun... and a great "first date" story for her to tell people about how you met.
