News story

I suppose Fiat is probably quite common in Europe, not sure how popular they are elsewhere, but with all these acquisitions they seem poised to be a major player.

Funny as not to long ago GM was going to buy Fiat. But of course they messed up the contract and Fiat started to sell off parts of itself while GM was left paying for something they did not want.

Yet another problem caused by the unions... right. Its all the unions fault. 😉

Also Opel was making money for GM before the down turn. So would be a good buy in the long run. Opel has a lot of good cars.

What???? It was unknown to me that Renault owned Nissan.

Hadn't heard that rumour. Interesting if true, as Nissan is essentially owned by Renault. N was big and in terrible shape--like GM/Chrysler--with huge debts and lack of vision/little future but with a nice history, until R took them over and reformed their manufacturing times and structures.
