will it come w/ those oval gold "made in china" stickers?

No, you drove to the future in your Delorian, stole MY post, then went back to the past to use it for your own evil purposes!

Delorians aren't Chinese, moron...

We know how this story goes: First ones to hit will be about as bad as they will be cheap and people will make fun of them, 10-15 years after they will be amongst the top sellers and those jokes will be long forgotten.

i'd buy one from costco. I could return it as soon as something happens or when a newer one comes out

Being a Chinese person that has been in China, I can personally say that Chinese cars suck and that most Chinese with good cars do not own Chinese cars. Most Chinese drive foreign-designed cars built in China (VW, Shanghai-GM, Audi).

If you like, please buy.

hehe, great line

not sure how this will all work out....i didn't figure we'd have a new country entering the market until kia and hyundai had totally firmed up their places like honda and toyota did in the late 70s/80s

A couple of the Chinese automakers are in hot water for designing cars that look too much like certain Japanese cars.

As I recall there's one that is a dead ringer for a CR-V. I mean this car looks identical - except for the badging. Honda is currently filing lawsuits.

There has been a boom in the automaking industry in China in the last few years. More people are buying cars over there than anywhere else, and the automakers are desperate to produce it seems...

if it's cheap, reliable, and come with decent HP, i might buy one

Read the specs on this alleged half-ton Chinese "truck" (sourced from a link in an above reply). Honest to God, I thought it was a joke. Not even 1.0L engine, with output of 38Kw, 77n/m (51hp, 57lb/ft) and max speed of 98Km/h (60mph)?? What's the fcking point of even putting a bed on it? My nephew's Power Wheels Hummer owns that piece of crap. Plus the Hummer would probably exceed its payload if you tried to take it home from the toy store (sorry, but contrary to mfgr specs, I'm not betting on this thing carrying 1000lbs with any measure of driveability).

I'll keep my '93 S-10 Blazer winter beater w/4.3L Vortec, thanks. 🙂

This is just a disaster waiting to happen. As much as I want to support CHina's auto industry, i think it's going to be worse than korean cars.

well the korean cars are already mostly terrible for anything other than basic transport.

watch the 12/26 top gear. haha.

these chinese cars are already in hot water over there for basically cloning toyotas, and even basically stealing logo designs. the chinese have never come up with anything original, and well copying a not very good japanese car like a toyota echo and making a bad copy of it probably will not fly in america.

They are now since history was changed. THANKS DAN.

I seem to remember similar ridicule directed towards Japanese built cars. It could go either way: the way of the Japanese or the way of the Yugo, but don't count the Chinese out so easily.

The chinese will never be able to sell her because they blantantly copy other manufacturers. Like the "Beauty Leopard" is a rip of the Hyundai Tiburon. Geely has a few Tacoma rip-offs and Nissan Frontier rip offs.

Copy or not it will come if there is a market. Just take a look at the camera history of the Seagull, Vivitar, Kalimar, Soligor, and Pearl River. And how the Japanese triumph Leica/Contax with their Nikon/Canons.

Don't knock it before you try. Their cars don't measure up to the cars that we are getting today, but history has shown that the Asian can compete (see Honda/Toyota/Hyundai history). And, also check out the Chinese make tractors/Backhoe such as Jinma that have penetrated the North American market with impresive low power diesel.
