First Build - Please Help

So, I'm finally set on building my own. I've been looking around for a while and have a pretty good idea of what I want, but I'd really like much more knowledgeable people to take a look. Please let me know if this build will work and/or suggest improvements.

Thanks

Abit "AN8" NVIDIA nForce4 for Sock. 939
Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester
nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT (Leadtek?)
2x512mb Ram (Cosair value ddr400?)
Seagate Barracuda 120gb, 8mb buffer, SATA
NEC 3520a, 16x DVD+RW Double Layer
Antec Sonata case w/ 380W PSU

I don't plan to OC, at least not at first. Also, let me know if there's a set of cables I should grab...don't want to get the stuff and then wait another week waiting.

Thanks guys.

Does the Sonata's PSU have SATA power? If not you need adapters, unless your getting the Retail version of the HDDs.

It should include them... my SL350 in my SLK3700AMB did, and I don't see why the True380S on the Sonata wouldn't either.

Your build looks good--Corsair VS PC3200 is what I'd recommend for RAM, Leadtek/eVGA/BFG are good for your video, and the Abit should be good for the MB, though I'd check out MSI, Asus, DFI, and others as well.

Thanks guys. Could someone give me the quick lowdown on hooking up SATA or point me somewhere.

Also, do I need any additional cables/adapters/connectors for this build?

Thanks.

nice build, make sure to check that you get the 2.5cas over the 3 cas valueram when you buy it. your mobo should come with a few sata cables, and i would bet money that your psu has sata connectors on it. if not you need to get an molex to sata power adapter. i would also get a 18in round ide for your optical drives, but you dont need that. i would also pick up the 160 or 200gig for 10-20 more then the 120 seagate.
