Ok. I just put together a decent pc. Here are some stats:
Ecs K7S5a DDR with Onboard Lan/Sound Motherboard
(2)256 Mb Sticks of Crucial Memory
1.4 Ghz Athlon PCU with Coolmaster Heatsink and Fan
60 Gb Western Digital Caviar 7200 RPM HD
16x Pioneer DVD Player (40x CD)
Good Old Floppy Drive
Geforce 2 GTS 64 Mb DDR
SB Live Value 5.1 Dolby
Linksys Lan Card with Wake on Lan
Inwin IW S500 ATX Case (300 watts)
Hitachi 19in Monitor
So, i put the in the pcu, the ram, the mother board into the case...
the drives and fans. Connect the ide and power cables and led cables.
Checked the jumpers. Plug in the power source and monitor... Turn the beast on and...
The screen reads, "NO SIGNAL, Video Cable Connected, Power Saving Mode, Monitor
OK"... What did i do wrong. I can get it to post or make it to the bios. This is
my first time actually putting the entire pc together and i messed up. Maybe.
Do I need to do anything else besides put in the win boot disk and go?

No disrespect intended but Andandteh has many different forums. Please check out the motherboards forum. There are several long threads dedicated to the K7S5A. I can tell you first off however, that your board is very picky about the power supply. If you don't have an approved PS for a 1.4 processor, you may as well not even bother posting an enquiry or someone will send you packing. Check out AMD.com and look up the approved power supplies for your processor and see if yours is listed.

Sounds like you need to reseat the video card and maybe the ram. Sometimes mobo's can be real picky with how those 2 seat, it's taken up to 3-4 times reseating both to get some systems I built going.

You are starting ONLY with the video card as the only other peripheral right? You need only the mobo, cpu w/heatsink/fan, ram, video card, cdrom and floppy drive. And of course the hard drive and power supply. 😀 Once it gets going then add things in one at a time.

*edit

As far as amd approved power supplies go, I have 2 1.4 systems(the other is my brothers) going and both have non-amd approved 300w power supplies. Both are running just fine. 🙂 But of course not all will work.
