First boot ok, second boot nothing on screen.

Here is the problem. The first time I boot up the computer I can fully install Windows. Once I shutdown and boot again nothing shows up on the screen. If I clear CMOS with the jumpers I can then boot to Windows again. I also tried to play around with the BIOS however everytime I save and exit I would still get nothing on the screen. Only way is to clear CMOS with the jumpers. You think this is a motherboard issue or can it be the memory. I'm pretty sure its not a CPU problem.

Also tried both onboard and PCIx video card.

MSI 785GM-P45
AMD Athlon X2 250
OCZ PC3 8500 2GBX2

It would help if you listed your hardware.

I recommend loading up the bios, and then selecting "load fail safe defaults". Save and exit. See if the problem still persists.

It could be a wide array of things, post up your hardware please.

Defaults loaded still get blank screen.
 
Do you have all of the proper drivers installed, all windows updates done?

What PSU are you using?

Edit: When you reboot and "nothing shows up on the screen", how long are you waiting?
 
When you reset bios to default, turn off then again on, is it working ? Maybe it just keep bugging bios, you should try to update bios and check all drivers.
 
I retraced my steps and found out this started happening after I updated the BIOS. Now I need to figure out how to downgrade my BIOS. I already formatted the hard drive so let’s see if I can still install Windows with this problem.
 
You should have some bios on the install cd from retail box, if not try to look on the internet for the oldest version of your type of bios. and then try to upgrade by one version until you get to some of the working.
