First Blu-Ray & LCD TV! What should be our first Blu-Ray?

Alright so we got our first Blu-ray & LCD TV arriving on Monday. What is the first blu-ray film that we absolutely have to have so I can send my buds home crying? The TV's 120Hz if that accounts for anything, it doesn't need to be on I guess - depending on the film. It'll be my first experience too so I'm interested to know what y'all have to suggest.

Batman Begins. Lots of action sequences, lots of dark scenes, awesome sounds, great for testing your system.

Ok, Planet Earth is a great documentary and all, but nobody is gonna site through 9 hours of animal planet in HD.

1st of all, fuck you. All I'm seeing is people yelling Planet Earth 111elevetyone!!!!one11, but gives no reason behind their suggestion. I've watch Planet Earth in HD many times, it's got some animal chases and great scenery, but it's not reference material you use to show off your new system to your buddies, unless of course your buddies are a bunch 12 years old who want to grow up to be just like Steve Irwin. You want reference material for a HT, you use an action movie w/ lots of explosions and booms, you don't fucking turn on animal planet.

Ps. DIAF.

I have to somewhat agree. Planet Earth does have some jaw-dropping PQ in certain scenes, but there's a lot of material that wasn't actually shot in HD due to understandable limitations during filming. Don't get me wrong, I <3 my Planet Earth set, but it's not the first thing I would choose to test out the new HDTV.

lol, so mean but so true. I can't see PE being able to display the range of your speakers and giving a very good "wow" experience to a complete HT. Yes, It may have some excellent PQ, but that's only 1 part of a HT experience.

First, I thought pot calmed people down

Second, if it's not your type of thing that's fine but the fact that so many people recommended it means there's something there. Some people like nature, and to see parts of the world they normally don't get to. Personally I was thinking more of the scenery and not the animals. He doesn't ONLY have to show Planet Earth, but it's a good choice. Action movies are awesome and would look great, but he should change it up with some Planet Earth too.

PS: get the rod out of your ass, dipshit

Get Planet Earth and any of the recent actionish movies OP (Iron Man, Transformers, etc)
