First bar drink

Title explains it all. Turning 21 tomorrow and hitting up a bar for the first time in my life. I'm moving from rum and coke in red cups to the big time- what should my first bar drink be ATOT?
 
if I drank a martini as my first ever drink, I'd have been sober for the rest of my life. lol.

gin and tonics have been my drink of choice lately.
 
Get used to something common. You don't wanna end up someday in Buttplug, OK. asking for some weird-assed drink. You'll end up shouting to the bartender on how to make it & he/she will screw it up. Waste of money.

Keep it simple. Jack & coke, Absolut & Cranberry Juice et cetera. Remember to drink a glass of water every few drinks to keep dehydration down. Main cause of hangovers & crappy body feeling.

I'd go for a gin and tonic or, if you really want to celebrate, a car bomb (edit: or 5 car bombs).

You've really never been in a bar before? Why is that? Have you never tried or never had the desire or what? I understand that, legally, bars shouldn't be serving drinks to those under 21, but I don't know anyone who never went to a bar before then.

Easy to drink, super delicious, and you don't even need to order food, just keep loading the olives down!

White Russians are delicious....but so are black russians.

I don't believe this is a common drink but I came across it a while ago and loved it. I've seen it called Bible Belt. It's Southern Comfort, triple sec, lime juice and sweet and sour. I need to make one of those soon...
