I just got back from filing out my lease agreement, and so now I offically have my first apartment! I'm so excited, it's very nice :-D 800 sq feet, one bedroom, with a den/office/guest bedroom. Great view, lots of windows, and reasonably priced. Best part, all of 1.5 miles from school, close enough the school bus runs though, far enough away that it's pretty quiet and it's right behind a nature park area.

I'm so excited. Any tips for first time renters? I am definatly getting renters insurance. I just can't wait to move in now. It's all mine!

Take several pictures of the the inside of the place with time stamp in case the landlord tries to screw you over when you move out.

very good advice.

It sounds a lot like my apartment. 1bdrm, 750sq ft, 1 mile from school, and across the street from the river/park.

I've been happy with mine, I'm sure you'll be, too 🙂

Oh, they have a card with everything written down on it, and they put in what they think is wrong. Then, when I move in, I go over the card, and put anything else I see on it. Then they go through it when I leave, and anything new gets charged/ However, my brother had a bad landloard once, and we made sure to have pics of everything! And we took pics when he moved out as well.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, it has a dishwasher, new cabnits, and a new carpet as well!
