Firmware upgrade to v.92 for my Lucent modem?

I have a v.90 pci Lucent (agere) modem. is there a way to upgrade it to v.92?

I doubt it. Most companies would probably rather you buy a new modem than give you a free upgrade. Why do you need it? Very very few ISP's support V.92 right now. My ISP has a few V.92 access numbers. I tried one for a while and I noticed absolutely no difference. BTW, most of the V.92 modems I have used have not worked very well.

If it's a Lucent WinModem, all you'll need is upgraded drivers. I was able to upgrade my mini-PCI V.90 modem to V.92 with the Agere's 8.18 modem drivers.

here is the new version 8.22

After install, do the "query modem" at device manager. Commend ATI3 should read something like V92, yada..ydad..yada..
But I don't know if it really work at V92 spec. (got DSL here. )
