What impact does disabling Catalyst A.I. have? I thought that it was something that should be left on?

Damn that must be crazy. I was wondering why you had Xfire for a 1600 rez

You must be teh guy shooting me all the time while I'm trying to snipe with my new HQAF lol

btw, I thought CAT AI didnt affect image quality to any humanly noticeable degree

That last article was baloney, so is this one IMO. 3DMark, Far Cry?

It shows an X1800XT beating an x1900xtx AND Gx2 in Far Cry, and they only bench Far Cry and DOOM 3... what the hell for? Why not some modern games.

I honestly don't want to spend the rest of the night arguing about this, especially with these crap-ass review sites that don't even really prove the point you're trying to prove.

are you saying legitreview is the only review you deem as valid? out of millions of reviews out there....

Ok lets pretend your last article was valid. That would mean that an x1800xt would be able to beat a GX2 in Far Cry. Do you believe that your last bench was valid?

What does the GX2 have to do with ATI's ability to do HDR + AA and still be playable? Hasn't that point been proved? Why go on about how close the GX2 and the XTX are in games? Doesn't everyone who is making the arguements already have the card(s) they want?

Yeah, but having just gone from a 7800GTX which I was not terribly impressed by, to an XTX which has blown me away, I believe it needs to be defended a bit, particularly with respect to the Quality vs. High Quality issue in benchmarking.

True, but when left on "Standard", the only optimisations turned on are the ones that produce exactly equal output. "Advanced" mode contains the optimisations which have a chance of affecting image quality.

I have to disable it cos for some reason ATI thinks that AFR is the best mode for BF2... you already get like at least 60 fps with everything cranked up...

With Cat AI on, if I enable any AA, it doesn't work...
So, I just use 14xAAA 16xHQAF @ 1680x1050 :)
