No, I think it's much better than a copy cat. Although I'm sure that they would have never known about the issue if Kyle hadn't reported it, I think they did a MUCH better job of detailing the issue, and analizing exactly what ATi is doing in their "optimizations". Definately a good read if you're interested in this whole issue.

I agree that it's better, I was just trying to stave off the "copycat" discussion if I could. What I thought was most interesting was the screenshot of the higher texture being used on the "weapon tile" compared to the ones around it. That's just scary.

I love firingsquad, but they seem to be slow in getting tehir reviews and stuff up...

Personally, I've always hated firing squad. They were crap before Nguyen joined up--just a bunch of little kids bragging about their cars and talking about chicks. Good to see that they're growing up.

If they implemented it in the same manner as the Quack/Quake cheat which seems logical then it's easy to check out... just download the drivers and check for any references.

That said I don't think there are any more such blatantly obvious cheats as this one.

Ahhh... i see. Well I wouldn't know since I don't play Quake 3 or Quack 3 or anything that uses that engine.
