Is it a true pc gamer's perspective?

I think so, but I've played a game quite a bit, and though the single player campaign is confusing as hell, the multiplayer is great.

Yeah I saw that. And while I didn't think it was as amazing as the Xboxians made it out to be, I certainly think it warranted better than 70%. I'd have put it somewhere in the low to mid 80s myself, just like Halo 1.

I think the game is amazing....I dont know how anyone could for a second slam the graphics (best I've EVER seen on Xbox hands down), the story line (again, the best ever on an Xbox except for maybe Halo1/Chronicles of Riddick)....not the mention the online play / in your house lan action is unbelieveable. They cant compare this to Half Life 2 and Doom3...the only similarty is they ARE in the same genre...but 2 totally different platforms. We'll see who the king really is when doom3/hl2 show up on the xbox. I give it about a 9.5 out of 10 as I did kind of have to agree that the story is very hard for a stoner like myself to follow at some points.

Consider what they're 'slamming' about the graphics. Aside from the mention of the occasional low res texture, it sounds like their only complaints are dull colors. "...a color palette that consists of little but grays and faded blues." Doesn't really sound like 'slamming' the graphics to me, just pointing out something that could've been done better.

KoTOR's story makes either one of those look extremely sad in comparison.

While I was a bit let down by Halo2, it is better then a 70% title although if he had done a better job justifying his score then I wouldn't take issue with it. This is someone who set out not to like the game and then didn't like the game. Some of his comments are stupidity, he doesn't understand that the auto save points are event based not "checkpoint", others are due to his obvious sucking at the game-

Unless you?re a really skilled FPSer with a gamepad, the frustration factor is crazy high.

He lacks any skills, and then whines like a b!tch about it. And then -

Every room is like a stereotypical shooter warehouse level, with cubes scattered around for cover.

Level design is repetitive and unimaginative, to the point where I found myself longing for a sewer or a good old-fashioned, crate-strewn warehouse.

After reading through this a couple of times I have to wonder if he played the game, or just read various people griping about it and then slapped this together. I have no problem people ripping games that I enjoyed, there is actually numerous elements that Halo2 could rightly be ripped heavily on- he just doesn't do a good or even mediocre job in doing it.

I enjoyed halo 2 a lot more than doom 3 after the first 30 minutes of each game. doom 3 was a lot more impressive of an accomplishment, but I had and have no desire to finish doom 3, as it was totally uninspired in terms of gameplay. Halo 2 was fairly fun, although not quite as fun as the first.

I couldn't agree more, Ben.

I'm also quite baffled as to why he found it difficult to follow the storyline.

Also, not being able to use a mouse and keyboard is a real issue. At least it was for me. The almost relaxed pace of the campaign disappeared when I faced off against human opposition, so I no longer had that extra second or two to get an enemy in my sights (crucial when you?re playing a shooter with a gamepad).

A second or two??? No wonder he didn't like it. 😀
