the soda/pop makers have made the caps on the plastic 20oz bottles a lot weaker now, so i cant do dry ice bombs anymore.

Pretty much anywhere around here. The kicker is it's legal to buy them, but illegal to have them. :/ What they are, are consumer versions of what you see at firework shows... the kind that shoot into the air than make the big colorful explosions. If you watch it again you'll see there are two explosions, the first little one is the lift off charge. Normally it'd be in a tube and that would send it skyward. The second one that lifts the garbage can is the actual firework going off.

I made LN2 bottle bombs back in HS. Those tended to expand and explode a lot faster than CO2.

my dad worked concerts for almost 30 years, was certified to do pyro and everything. he and his drunk friends decided to build a mortar out of H blocks and light off a 7" pod in his back yard one thanksgiving. the explosion was so loud the rest of the neighborhood woke up, saw the smoke cloud over the neighbors house and called the FD, thinking the house blew up. my dad and friends turned off all the lights and peeked thru the curtains until on old lady that knew he loved explosives called him out on it. she saw him in the window lol. funny shit. the explosion did start a fire tho, but being a group of pyro techs/ stage hands they were prepared with hoses and such. burned 3 rented tables and all the cloth on them before they got it out tho
