Indian/Native American Reservations. The trick is to go on the 4th of July when it starts getting dark. The Native Americans will sell their mortar fireworks for 50% off. At least that's how I used to do it in Idaho. All the suckers would go buy theirs at 100% price because they buy them early, but then on the 4th of July when it's getting dark the Native Americans try to clear out all their inventory.

I've never seen anything beyond consumer grade fireworks - i.e. what you could get at phantom fireworks.

I've seen the ones you shoot out of tubes normally, but they're nowhere near that large of an explosion.
