Firewire

I have a firewire question...am fixing to go to it I guess....question, is firewire supported by all motherboards, or do motherboards have to have firewire capability as they must for USB? can't find a motherboard that specifically mentions firewire in it's specs..thanks...t

They must have a FireWire controller chip. Very few motherboards have FireWire onboard.

Currently IEEE1394/FireWire capability is not built in to any chipset.

The easiest way to get FireWire is to buy a PCI FireWire card, or a Creative Audigy sound card.
