Firewire

First let me explain the context. There is a Webcast going to take place in my company wherein an external team is broadcasting a talk to registered users.
I want to broadcast this talk on our Facebook page using livestream.

The problem is that the mixer that connects the cameras has an RC output. So the external team has agreed to provide an RC to Firewire Converter to us but they cannot provide a laptop with a firewire port

My query is that if I connect the output of the converter into my laptop which has a firewire port will I be able to get the video live on my laptop so that i can broadcast it using livestream or will I have to do some other configuration in my laptop to enable such a thing ??

From a quick glance of Livestream.coms website, it seems as if Procaster is what you'll be needing, in order to encode video from Firewire and broadcast live. Duplex operation is never cheap and easy and good.
I would suggest getting the software together on your machine and do some dry runs to get the operation down before the conference. This will let you get the cabling down and the setup will go a lot smoother.
