Ok-

I just got a new iBook, and I was looking for an external firewire HD. Did some looking and discovered buy.com has a 10GB FireWire/USB2.0 Simpledrive ... which has a $25 rebate! So....

1. Find the Simpledrive on buy.com
2. Send in the $25 rebate to Simple
3. $164.95 - $25 rebate = about $140!

$25 Rebate coupon
Simpledrive at buy.com

You could also pick up one of the Maxtor/Compusa 60gig HD's for $99 + tax. CompUSA also has FireWire enclosures for ~ $69.99 . They will accept HD's, LS120, ZIP, and I forget what else.

Anyway, for around $180.00, you could have beau coup super fast storage.

My .02 worth...

Thats exactly what I did, I have a WD 120 GB hard drive sitting in my firewire enclosure right now. I got the enclosure for $80 and the drive for $100. Plus I can swat out the drive and put in a CD-RW if I wanted to.

Well since we're bragging here:
I got a 16x External Firewire CDRW for $99 at frys, took out the 16x cdrw, sold it for $59.99 on ebay, put in a 24x liteon cdrw that I got for $39 after rebate and hence I got a 24x external firewire liteon for $79 🙂
