Firewire question

Is there a particular firewire chipset that i should get when buying an add on card? There doesnt seem to be much information on them and was curious if there were any to avoid or if they all performed about the same.

I think the most commonly used and most reliable chipset is based on a Texas Instruments (TI) chip but I could be wrong.

They all seem to be good - I have three systems, two with TI chipsets.

If you are going to by an add on Firewire Card then I recommend Firewire800 from TI as it'll keep up with the PCI Bus and is of course Firewire400 compatable
