Firewire Nightmare

Just put together a new rig around an Asus P4P800 Deluxe because I read it was an awesome mobo. Now I'm starting to miss my SOYO DragonPlus! Problem is that I cannot get onboard IEEE1394 port to work. So I plugged-in a 3-port firewire PCI card and cannot get this to work either.

I've updated bios, installed latest VIA VT6307 (4in1) drivers, updated Win2K Pro to SP4, and still cannot get it to work. Device Manager indicates 3 IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers (2 PCI cards + onboard) using IRQs 20, 21, 22 - no conflicts and VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE Host Controller drivers are all ok.

Has anyone had similar problems or have any suggestions before I go back to SOYO???

That's an interesting problem, never heard of anything quite like that. Is the firewire port turned on in the bios, if that is an option? Also, when you set up this new rig, did you clean install 2k?
