FireWire Help

Hello, I'm new trying to get into digital editing with Firewire. I have the camcorder and everything, I was just wondering what all I need to get started to get a firewire port in etc... It would be most appreciated if you told me some of your preferred hardware.

1st I would go out and get an Adaptec FireConnect 4300 3-port PCI card (there are cheaper options) and a cable (if you haven't already got one). Then you're set to go.

Later on you could purchase a FireWire hub if you want to connect from your desk = more comfortable.
