firewire card (pci-e) not seating

I got a low profile pci-e 1x firewire card today and I am trying to get it to seat correctly. For one thing if I insert the card the pci mounting bracket doesn't touch the screw-in card mount part in the case, and if I push on the card so it does touch there the other side of the card pops out and it just never seats, it just keeps see-sawing. I'm a little worried, but I can't see what is causing this because I don't have a light bright enough to see. Any ideas?

Sounds like the case is warped. Best way to fix this problem is to either replace the case or you can file down the end of the card's bracket that sits below the motherboard. If you get the same case and still have the same problem then the low profile bracket itself could be off or the case design in general is off.

Damn it, that's what I was afraid of. New case time I guess, I didn't like this mid-tower anyway. It will have to be a few weeks though since I can't afford a new case right now. Is it safe to leave the card seated but not screwed in as long as I don't jostle it?
