Firewire Card Drivers, PC

I purchased a generic firewire card to hook up a dv camcorder to the PC. Win XP doesn't automatically install any drivers and there is no manufacturer info on the box or card. A search turns up MAC drivers but not PC drivers. How do I get drivers for it?

If possible, look at some of the microchips on the Firewire card. Try to look for the chip that might be heart of it, write down the numbers and do a google search. See if you can find a company that makes Firewire cards that look exactly like yours.

Also, try contacting the place where you purchased it, see if they can give you some information.

Thanks.
The only thing on the card is:
EC-120 REV 1.1 and a VIA chip VT6306. There are 3 ports on it. The manual makes reference to "Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller". So I used that in a search and found these. They are not for XP but I tried them anyway and they don't work.

I did a search in Google with the "EC 120", then I searched with in those results with "firewire".

I saw a couple of people selling a EC 120 firewire card and they said it was a GW (Good Way) company. Found the company and picture of the card. Is it this?

I checked their Technical Support for drivers and they don't list them.... but a start for knowing who is the company if it is what I found.

I have installed 3 different Firewire controllers in XP and it has never needed a driver - they are built in. You gotta hot plug the device to wake XP up.

I was wondering that. It's for a camcorder that wrapped for Xmas. I might have to wait till then.
Device manager shows exclamation points.
