Firewire Card Advice

Without putting too much thought into it, I ordered a VIA-based firewire card from chiefvalue.com.

It's already been ordered/shipped, but apparently I can refuse shipment if I need to. It's not coming until Thurs, so I have a bit of time to think about it.

Here is the one I bought (newegg link, since CV & newegg are the same company) ($14 shipped): Text

However, I'm wondering if this one with a NEC chipset would be more compatible ($14 shipped): Text

Or, if I needed to, this one with a TI chipset ($25 shipped): Text

Am I going to be OK with the VIA chipset, or should I do what I can to refuse shipment & proceed to order the NEC or TI-chipset one?

I'd be appreciative if anyone would share their firewire chipset horror stories with me...

I should mention that this will only be used for the next month or so. After that, I will probably not use it much.

Thanks!

Greg
