Firewire 800 card

I'm in the market for a Firewire 800 (second generation Firewire) add-in card. Is there any? Also I'd like to have it use a PCI-E slot (x1, x2, or even x4) on the motherboard.

There's plenty many PCI 1's but I have yet to see PCI-e flavors although within time I'm sure they will be available...

I've always had great luck with their firewire cards in both MacOS and Windows as well. Well made with good OS support.

Just reread and you want 1394b, though. doh! No idea why those aren't in PCI-e yet. Might be 'easier' to get a motherboard with that built-in.

Hikari, thanks for the link. I guess that's what I have to get. Unfortunately my board's PCI slots are full and I only have a PCI-E slots left, and I can't think of rebuilding the whole thing just because of Firewire800. 😉

I should just live with Firewire400. Actually that's more than enough.
Thanks again.

since this thread already exists... old bump to see if anyone has any recommendations. Thinking of getting a Drobo, and tryign to figure out if it's worth getting the FW800 card or not (I already have FW400).
