Dear reader,

First of all I'd like to say I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for this thread.

I've been thinking of buying Firewatch on steam, but i'm not sure wheter or not my graphics card can support the game.

The minimum requirements for the graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 or higher with 1GB Memory.
According to systemrequirementslab.com my GeForce GT 740M graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements, but when I compare their properties, the GT 740M seems to be the better one to me.

This is just an assumption I made, based on the difference in numbers, as I am not familiar with what makes a graphics card good or bad. :\

Is it safe to assume that I'll be able to play the game at an enjoyable fps-rate or run it at all, or is an upgrade absolutely necessary?
And how can I tell if one graphics card is better than the other?

Thanks in advance,

Maximo 40000

Just remember that you are only a hair above the minimum requirements for the game, so resolution, detail, etc are going to have to be set near the lowest possible to get an acceptable framerate.

740m is ranked just above the gts 450 (column on the right) by the looks of it. Probably similar performance.

Ha! You beat me to it! I love that page... been visiting it for ages and very useful!

As the other guy said though, you're looking at running the game pretty minimal, you'll have to lower your resolution for sure. (If your lappy runs 1366x768, you'll be OK. A 1080P screen will be too much... but try it!) ;)
