Firewall vs any spy/remote programs

Hello I have ultraVNC installed on a pc. I don't know if someone is spying or monitoring the computer so I have decided to close it and turned on the firewall and set it to Block all incoming connections, including in the list of allowed programs. Both Home or work (private) and Public network location settings.

So am I safe from being monitored???

Which computer are your concerned about, your computer or the one you are connecting to? And as a follow-up, is there anyone in particular you are suspicious of doing the monitoring?

I have excellent protection, carefully configured, Do Not track in Pale Moon; only use IXquick as search engine which does not track (the anti Google), am malware, virus, rootkit free (I scan often), but I never think I can not be tracked, I am on the net ongoing.

Apps update automatically as they are meant to, etc.

Anyone connected to the net can be tracked.

If you able to access the Internet, you are not blocking all incoming (or outgoing) connections. There are steps you can take, as Virgorising stated, to stay a little safer.

The computer I've been using is a server in our company. It has ultraVNC on it. I don't want any incoming connection to view this PC through ultravnc or other remote software, so i set the firewall. Was that enough?

What are you doing on a server that you don't want anyone else to see? If you need to use VNC for work purposes to access the machine, just make sure it has a good password, and don't forward ports to it from the Internet unless that is also required for work purposes. If you don't use VNC, then remove it.

But being paranoid about someone else seeing what you are doing with the server sounds like maybe someone else SHOULD be seeing what you are doing...

Expended Answer: Do not use a server to surf the internet. The server and the software on it are too valuable for this. For example, my server at the house doesn't even have access to the internet. Local network connection only.

Who gave you access to the server? They should revoke it ASAP.

If you are not in a position to do the monitoring then act as if your are being monitored at all times. AKA don't do stupid shit at work if you're not in charge of the network.

I'm in a position of accessing the server. I'm the one in charge. It's just boring!!!! to work hard 7 days a week 12 hours per day... That's why I use it. So????

If you have a router then there is SPI and it will block all incoming unless you port forward.
