Firewall settings and Secure website

ok, this was annoying. got my new mobo (DFI lanparty) that has hardware firewall a week ago. for the last week, i've tried accesing one of my credit card companys, but kept getting "We could not find blah.com" in IE. payment due today, call them, oh, its hasn't been down, its just my firewall blocking the site. meh, there's an extra 15 bucks to the company for "express" payment. ::roll eyes::

aite, any clue why my firewall is blocking the secure site? any idea which port might be blocked? site is providian.com if that helps.

i'm using a modified medium security setting (modified ports to let spellforce thru). won't work on any setting, including low or anti-hacking only. only can get access by turning off the firewall.

no. i can access another CC (credit card) company and my banks website, both of which are SSL Secured.

i'm guessing call them and ask?

checked log and ya, it shows that is blocking.

log shows 8 denials to 4 different IPs. two of them with TCP port and the other two with UDP ports. which ones do i need to open up?

there are to ways to log into my account. one thru providian.com and thru providianonline.com. how can i tell which IP is for which .com and which ports do i open? just open all the ones i see in the log?

As JackMDS said the https port is 443/TCP. You can do a lookup on each domain name to find the ip address:
nslookup providian.com
nslookup providianonline.com

ok, checked port 443/tcp and it's allow outbound and deny inbound. is that the cause?

if so, why am i able to acces other SSL secure sites?

or does providian do something different?

is it ok/safe to allow inbound on 443/tcp?

Maybe providian is doing something differently. Inbound should only be allowed if you are running an https site.
