My firewall has said I have been attacked from Ip 148.64.159.152 (or 148.63.161.111) and states something aboiut "Invalid TCP Flags". Also one of the IPs was tarced back to Marietta GA, at leats that is what Norton said.

What is a TCP Flag and what does this mean?? I have done a WhoIS IP and written the company that manges the IP address and they are just giving me the run around?

UPDATE

Attacked again from...
IP 148.64.168.228
Source Port 2692
Destination Port 4557
Flags Invalid 0x00000914
Marietta GA 11:52am

Is there somebody I can contact to report them as the company that has these IPs does not care??

Thanks

Sending packets with invalid flags is one way to scan a system. It's basically a quicker and steathier way to send packets.

Coincidentally I have been getting the same crap out of georgia recently. I think it was someone on starband.com. I reported them to their abuse dept. Happened like 4 or 5 times

I don't know if they don't care or if they just choose not to respond. My attacks came from 148.64.159.16 and 148.63.227.42

Is there a agency I can report them to?? As this does not seem to be just one person, and the company is just looking the other way?

FBI. Frankly, I dont worry too much about scanning since it happens constantly. Dont get your panties in a bunch.
