What's the difference between this and my firestick? Absolutely love these firesticks. Not sure why people would spend 3 or 4x the cost. More apps, or smoother interface w/ better specs or something?

Better remote IIRC (with the microphone for voice search) and a little bit more power that could run more demanding apps (I imagine). It also has Ethernet so you can get a better connection if your wireless is spotty in your house, and optical out for better audio output. Though from what I've heard the fire stick is a great device and doesn't cut that many corners from the full size, so you probably wouldn't gain much.

Wondering the same thing, since I have XBMC running smoothly on my firestick.

About twice the guts overall (aka twice as much RAM and twice of as fast of CPU). It might be worth it if you use it for Kodi or emulation.

To me the big thing about the box is the ethernet.

I may wind up doing that for a different TV. I had considered it with both, but figured the experience on the Chromebox was amazing, and figured the best step down would be the FireTV. If that is still good/amazing, I'll try the Firestick on other TVs. But with the price drop and the voice remote, I figured it might be a nicer feature set for a big TV.

I think it's dumb you can't watch Prime on Chromecast. No, I'm not going to get a Chromecast AND a FireStick, and based on your software quality in the past I don't trust your apps on the stick to work as reliably as the Chromecast.

Since the Hulu and Amazon addons no longer seem to work in XBMC. Does the Fire TV work with the regular Hulu or just Hulu Plus?

Tempting. I've wanted to try one out, but my Rokus had been solid up until this last 6.1 update debacle.

Might have to check it out further.
