The Giants fan should have known better than to interfere with Fireman Ed while he was doing his thing, but that does not give Ed the right to push him. That being said, I think the lawsuit is frivolous. If Fireman Ed is found guilty I hope Woody Johnson or someone from the Jets pays whatever fines he has to pay. They should also consider having security stand by Ed to prevent other drunken fans from causing more trouble.

That's what I was thinking. Now you're going to have people filing assault charges on random people that they accidentally brush shoulders with. IMO the judge should see the video posted in the link and throw the charge out, as the Giants fan was acting immature and stupid.

Having just sat on a jury for an assault charge, I'd acquit on this one.

In my state, assault is defined as "knowingly, intentionally, or recklessly attemps to cause bodily injury". I just don't see it there.
