*edit* thread in FF forums
I'm not the only one.... anyone else here? We're thinking it might be extension related...

Ok, this is getting really annoying, I've noticed that the popup blocker seems to keep disabling itself... anyone else have this problem? I removed, reinstalled, and it still does it sometimes. It *seems* as though it will happen when I visit a page I haven't been to... but once I turn it back on while I'm at that page, it seems to work again.

Anyone run into this?

I never heard of that. Although you can make pop-ups happen if you do them on purpose (such as the reply button here).

Can you figure out how to make it do that on purpose? If you can I'd bet people at the mozillazine forums would like to hear about it...

Could be that you are hijacked in IE. IE doesn't necessarily have to be running for hijack-popups to be occuring. If you were hijacked before you started using Firefox and didn't get it cleaned up, you're still hijacked. Firefox will prevent you from becoming hijacked, but won't cure a hijack that's already in place. You might consider checking out Schadenfroh's spyware thread at the top of this forum for help...

bumpity to get some more attention.... sites that have pop ups are weather.com and suprnova... two that I happened to remember. It's not all the time either, it seems random.

Never had a problem with it. I also think extensions are generally crap and can't find a worthwhile one to use. So I'm clean.

I was having this problem with Mozilla 1.8a1, it started when I installed the Tabbrowser Extention.
