Problem Solved.

If you use the iFox Smooth theme in Windows for Firefox, that is the cause of the problem. I don't know about other themes, but the default one works fine so I will be sticking with that for now.

Thanks again for all the help everyone.

Thanks. I'll have to get used to that.

same thing for me. are you using a theme? if so, updated it. But, when i updated my theme, the dropdown menus look like the default FF theme, instead of the ones from my theme. so, it looks like sh!t. wtf is going on here???

why does it install updates automatically now?

what happened to the good old firefox. its starting to turn into IE...... damn, its sad to see such a good browser go down hill like this. :(

I don't think I've ever had a problem with Firefox, even going back to the pre-1.0 releases. Nonetheless, I prefer IE 7.

In Firefox, you can change how AutoUpdate Works in: Options, Advanced, Update

The last update is the only time I've ever had a problem with it in recent years. It not only wiped my bookmarks (but not my cookies, go figure), it took out the configured search engines in the search bar in the upper right corner. AND, there appears to be no simple way to add Google back to it.

Thumbs down for this one.

For some reason, everything I download in the latest update of Firefox freezes the browser and I am forced to shut it down via task manager and restart.

Which would be great if they could get a webpage that worked even semi-reliably.

*edit*

Or a valid installer that worked. It gives me some "Favorites is not a valid short name" or something of the like on 2 seperate systems and downloads.

Great product!
