FireFox tip

I was having some problems with firefox 1.0 and these forums recently. Like no quick reply box / and, when replying in a thread, trying to add a link or adding a expressions .. ect. I was about to dump Firefox and go back to IE for use here on the forums.

I decided to try one more thing ... delete my profile in Firefox. That did it. After doing this and creating a new default profile in Firefox, now everything on anandtech forums works like it should. Some of you have done this I'm sure but others with trouble using Firefox here might try this.

Ok, what the hell... when I use IE, I have no quick reply, but when I'm trying firefox, its there. I havn't used quick reply in months.. I love it.

In IE, I think there's a "dock quick reply" button at the top and bottom of each thread, that you have to click on to show the QR box. I haven't used the forums in IE for ages, but I think that this icon is next to the other icons just above the <refresh> link at the bottom of the thread.

Hmm....I'm using Firefox 1.0, and I've noticed no problems at all viewing the forums.

I didn't as well. The forum upgrade didn't mess my FireFox up. I think it was getting hosed before ... maybe by some extension I added or theme installed. But, after the forum upgrade that's when I noticed that a few things were not working like they had been. Just timing in that regard.

But I guess if FireFox gets hosed for anyone who uses it.... just deleting the profile will get you back to square 1. Rather than uninstalling/reinstalling FireFox. Just remember to at least export your bookmarks first before deleting the profile. 🙂
