firefox: sort bookmarks by folder first

i got firefox 1.0. is there way to make the bookmarks sort folders first and then bookmarks? right now it's alphabetical but mixes folders in with bookmarks.

i've tried extension sort bookmarks 0.60, but doesn't help.

I'm interested too. I've just had to manually do it using the bookmark manager. Wonder if you can write a plugin to do this...

Try opening bookmarks manager, right clicking the right side pane and going to "sort by name". You should be able to do the same thing in the bookmarks menu. Just like IE...right click and sort by name. That should do it.

that only sorts it in the bookmark manager..not in the bookmark menu dropdown

Okay, it might seem a tad strange, but if you go to Bookmark Manager and select View>Unsorted, it will sort the list to Folders first (Alphabetically) then the bookmarks (Alphabetically).

It's quite odd really. Personally, I would call that sorted.

Anyhow, it worked for me with vers 0.9.3

Select any item in the list; right click with your mouse and select "Sort By Name".

sweet, that does it. Too bad you have to do that to each folder you want sorted, but it's a workaround. Thanks.
