Firefox replaces/supplants Netscape?

I use Netscape 4.79 for my email client because IMO it is the simplist presentation and interface out. Attaching is easy, forwarding is easy, address books are easy, etc, and I have all my emails from 1997 to now in archived folders that I can full-text search. Nothing I have tried has come close.

So what I am wondering is if I download Firefox and install it, will it install over Netscape? Will NS 4.79 cease to exist, just like if I had installed NS6? Not sure if I will like that or not....anyone have my answer?
