I have one machine, it's actually Linux... but figured I'd post here as probably get more traffic and it's related more to Firefox than Linux itself. For some reason this particular instance of FF seems to have trouble holding on to logins but only for certain sites. One is Skip The Dishes. In fact, they use some kind of javascript based login that it does not recognize as a form, so I can't even use the form field feature so it remembers at least the field. So every single time I want to go to that site I need to open my password manager to get the password. Kind of annoying.

There are other sites that do it too like ip torrents, and social media sites. I managed to fix some by installing an extension called "session alive" but it does not work 100%.

Any reason why this would happen and is there any setting I can check? Any other installation i have on other PCs remembers my login for those sites, so I know it's not the sites themselves that are problematic.

As a side note, is there an extension I can use to remember form fields that is smarter than the built in one? At work they also did something where the built in one stopped working which is super annoying since we have 10+ different logins and those sites don't remember it either or randomly kick us out (by design of the sites) and some we cannot change ourselves so keep having to copy paste from password manager, while before they used to just save.

If it's happening when you close firefox there is a setting in Settings - Privacy and Security and scroll down to "Cookies and Site Data" and make sure "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is Unticked. While you're on the same page "Logins and Passwords" is next so have a look through those and see if anything needs fixed.

You might also check to see if it's a bug that has been reported if it just started happening with a recent build.

Yeah that's unticked. It only does it to certain sites and not all sites, it's weird. Only does it on this machine too. I have Firefox on other machines, Linux included and it does not do it. I googled and it happens to some people, but found no fix.
