I?m using Firefox 1.0, and just loaded Flash Version 8 (latest) at the prompting of an investment tools website so their online tutorials can work?

Now, I get a flash error occasionally when I start FF and when I try to use the investment tools tutorial, FF crashes?

I need the capability to play the flash vids on the investment site (I?ve paid money for them)?

Looks like my best option is to save my bookmarks, uninstall my current version of FF, and reload the latest version of FF (1.5?)

Any other ideas?

If you just install 1.5 over the top of 1.0 it will preserve your bookmarks and preferences.

 
So... Can I view 1.5 as a "patch"...? I like to keep a very clean machine with no "extra" files floating around which is why I thought to uninstall/reinstall...

If 1.5 is truly just a patch that uses all the code or overwrites some of the existing, then I'd assume my install is "lean"...

Is it a good assumption to surmise FF is now "brok" because the latest version of Flash was designed to work with a later version of FF than what I have?
 
If you're going to reinstall, it's probably safest to do it to another location (or blow away your old install). Your profile, however, is stored outside of the installation directory so you don't have to worry about losing your bookmarks as long as you don't explicitly delete them. Of course it never hurts to back them up, just to be sure.
