I just switched to firefox...

Is there any way to make it so that when i type an address in the URL window, it automatically opens up a new tab with that address instead of overwriting the current window??

Also, have it automatically open a new tab when i click on a link with the left mouse? the center mouse is kinda wack...

thanx!

I am just very disappointed that the tab-browsing feature doesn't seem to be "advanced" within Firefox.
Before when i used crazybrowser, anything i clicked on or typed in the url window AUTOMATICALLY opened a new tab.
Now i get annoyed because i was spoiled by Crazybrowser;everytime i cllick on a link it just loads over my current window...so primitive...
Or sometimes it opens a whole new session...uh why??

Get the tab browser preferences extension. It will allow you to do what you want.

There are many different plugins you can download that give greater options for tabbed browsing. I recommend Tabbrowser Extensions v1.1.1. I think there is an option in there that will do exactly what you're asking...

God, how annoying would it be to have EVERY link open in a new window. Could you imagine browsing the forums?

Click on thread, opens in new window. Click on off topic, opens in new window. Click on thread.... etc

By the time you'd read 10 threads, you'd have at least 20 windows open, and half of them would all be the same page (off topic thread listing). If a thread had three pages, you'd have each page open in a new window.

That seems insanely stupid to me.

Actually, I didn't explain it too well. It's as if the browser automatically knows when to open a new tab and when not too. Trust me it doesn't do what you stated above...that WOULD be crazy...i just did a poor job of explaining it.

But anyways, I'm back to my old browser and happy once again...let this thread die please.

I think the phrase is "user error".
You suck at FF, not the programs fault, it's yours.
Middle click = new tab when clicking a link
alt+enter = new tab when typing in URL bar.
Is it really that hard?

Yeah it is. Why can't it just open a new tab when i press enter on the url window? why do i have to press alt?
and why do i have to click that small ass middle wheel for a new tab? it's a wheel its not even a button.

but you are like a guy from the 1950s yelling at a guy from the present because he can't live without a remote control for his tv...u won't get it just yet...just be happy with Firefox and I will be happy with Crazybrowser.

I had another question, hopefully someone knows the answer. How do you set the default text size.

I usually increase the text size by pressing ctrl and "+", however when I used tabbed browsing, the new windows still have the small font. I've tried changing the font settings, but they do not do anything.

That wasn't directed at you, but the lazy original poster. :)

I don't know how to solve your problem.
