Firefox profile problems

Hey,

my mediocre search yielded little results on this topic.
I am using suse 9.1 and have firefox set for .html extensions.... my problem is when I click on a link from an AIM window or something outside the firefox browser - when i do this it [annoyingly] asks me which profile I want to use, and when I select "default user" it says you can't open more than one instance.

Is there anyway to fix this, I'd rather just have one profile or none at all, so i don't have that gay window popping up when i click on links.

yeah, this is a big pain in the ass... unfortunately, I've been using Windows for a couple months for a project and I'm not sure if gaim (you do mean gaim, right?) has fixed this, but this annoyance was still present around March.

yeah, gaim or when i open a new window (not tab)

I think it's related to your launch script. There's something about x-remote, but I don't remember the exact story. I'd suggest asking in the Mozillazine forums.

Yeah, I've tried a few scipts for a x-remote, but none of them have done the trick yet... ;(. Guess i'll just live w/ the annoyance.
