firefox problem - why wont gifs load in some sites?

HI

a week ago i did a manual clean of the firefox cache [and cache2 - whatever that is for?!!] and most of the other folders. after this i found that when i go to ebay site i get a circle of the "gif symbol" around my webpage [i can see item pix alright]

nearly all my usual webpages run fine but why has ebay started to behave like this after my mass clearout [and what is cache2 for?]

i was surprised how mich junk was in these folders even after clearing all the browsing history etc etc

Are you sure you didn't set an adblock mask too loosely? Like maybe blocking all pictures from a certain server when it actually serves up real content as well as ads?

possibly - but to tell you the truth i find adblock a little complicated and so tend not to use it overly much...

i uninstalled ad-blocker but still get the same problem

Weird. No problems here. I only experienced some weird icon issue when I was running it with a web app. I wish it would support Firefox🙁

Hmm i guess this is the same problem as mine. But I'm fine with ebay. I can't view download.com and cnet.com

i can use the page okay, just have to put up with a ring of "broken image" icons
