Firefox problem in window vista home edition.

I ran into this little problem with firefox under window vista. For soem unknown reason, the program refuse to run no matter what and even after i reboot it and uninstall and reinstall it, the problem still remain there. Anyone know what cause this problem and what can I do to fix this.

The only thing I can think of is maybe something weird with your directories. Are Vista and FireFox pretty much default installs? Or do you use some kind of proprietary directory structure?

delete or rename your current profile and see if that fixes the problem
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here is the problem. When I uninstall and reinstall, it give me the error saying that the firefox is already running but is not responding. How could it be running when I just install the bloody thing??

Do a complete search including hidden system files, and delete all traces of FireFox from your system. You could also look through your registry and delete all traces of Firefox from there. Then reboot and try reinstalling again.

Actually I try looking for Mozilla's system file in regedit, but there is no trace of Mozilla in Regedit in vista while I can find them in a window xp computer. Where exactly are the file located?

I'm not sure what you mean by a system file. Tbh, going through the registry is probably a little extreme. I would first try a proper uninstall through Control Panel/Programs and Features. After you do that go to these 2 locations and delete the Firefox folders
C:\Users\Dad\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
C:\Users\Dad\AppData\Local\Mozilla

You'll have to enable hidden files and folders to see these, and of course you'll substitute your directory names in the appropriate places. After you do that, try reinstalling Firefox and see if it works. If it still doesn't work, do all of the above again, then search the registry for all examples of mozilla, and firefox then delete them(be careful if you have other Mozilla products on your system), then reinstall. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. Maybe do a virus scan in case a virus is trying to limit your browser selection for some reason. I've never heard of anything like that before though.
