Firefox problem - dial-up connection keeps popping up

I was using my mom's computer today, and once in awhile the dial-up connectin box would pop up. I switched her over to Firefox about a week or so ago. We use cable and have a home lan, I've never had a problem like this before. Kinda weird...any thoughts? I want to get rid of it. Is there a spyware dialer or something that's trying to connect somewhere?

No it's probably just trying to connect and their is automatic dial up somewere.

I'd just try to delete the dial-up connection if you don't need it anymore

Could be some spyware -- have you checked for it?

Control Panel > Internet Options
Go to Connections tab
Make sure "Never dial a connection" is selected

Otherwise might be spyware.
