its happened a few times.

most recently at audi looking at the 360 degree exterior view of the A4 1.8t. Something with the qt plugin made it b0rk. It worked when I went back though

I haven't had anything crash Firefox yet, but you should take into account that its still in beta (but 1.0 is coming soon).

i have had a few webpages crash it, i think they try to install some spyware or something, becaue protowall usually blocks them as trojan/spyware sites. unloading protowall allows me to visit. but then it crashes firefox.

Although FF has not crashed I get the same issue as you on the Audi Website. I have gotta change my TT and went for the new A3 Sportback...(emm gone off topic here..lol :D) but I also have had issues with their site and Firefox. I've installed the plugin and all seem well with that site now...

I would also like www.map24.co.uk to work properly with Firefox too. What plugin is required for that? ;)

Dunno. It works perfectly well with mine.

Maybe you need Java, which you can get from www.sun.com.

When you say perfectly, are you using Firefox and are you using the Interative or Static views? I'm installing Java now, but I don't have to do this with IE...

Firefox crashes for me when I go to the Tag Heuer website:

Link

If you click on "3D Virtual View" on the left side, nothing happens and it crashes. Must be a plug in thing, since it works in IE. Is it possible that some sites just cannot work in FF (regardless of plugins)?

Firefox isn't a completely bug-free program. If you do find a problem you can reproduce, and it isn't already filed, report it. If the developers aren't aware of the problem, they won't know it needs to be fixed.

For what it's worth, a HUGE number of crashes in Firefox/Mozilla are Sun's fault because their Java Virtual Machine sucks.

edit: All firefox windows run in one process, and if that process crashes, all your windows die. There's nothing you can do about that.

It is a plugin thing. That site tries to open a popup which FF blocks. If you unblock it, it asks to install some plugin which they say is not supported in anything other than IE or Nutscrape 7 (which I thought was based on Mozilla which is forked from FF). But anyways, FF didn't crash for me, but just didn't work on that 3D link only.

Do you know what plugin it wants?
I went there, and it didn't crash, but I doesn't show much of anything when clicking 3D View either.

And yes, a few sites that use some nonstandard, IE specific features will work only in IE.
When I come across one of those, I just make it a point not to give a crap and visit some worthwhile site instead, a luxury I can afford since my bank works fine with Mozilla. :)

all the crashes i've had with FF are Sun Java related. It continues to piss me off.

I'm installing Java now, but I don't have to do this with IE...

Only because you got grandfathered in with their JVM, they stopped distributing it after losing the lawsuit with Sun so anyone who doesn't have it already will have to either download the Sun JVM from java.sun.com or hunt around the Internet looking for the MS JVM and trusting the sites they download it from.

Since we're on the topic of FF not loading pages... try going to www.kpmg.com. All I see is a blank page. But it works fine with Opera.

FF does crash for me sometimes, but I have never been able to reproduce it.
