Firefox Plugin Install Fails.

Every time I try to install a Firefox plug in it fails and gives me the option to do it manually.
Why?
Security settings?
 
In windows Vista you probably have to run Mozilla "as an administrator" by right-clicking the Mozilla icon and selecting "Run as administrator"....then try installing your addon from scratch. If you aren't in Vista....well.....I'm not sure.
