If I track my mouse pointer over the "new topic", "profile", "search" etc within the forum page and I am not logged in the mouse pointer changes to a "hand" pointer. When I log in and do the same thing my mouse pointer is the large "I" (selection) pointer.

Any reason why this would change?

I'm finding that if you change your color scheme to "Cool" it still changes to a "hand" when you're logged in.

Color schemes???

I don't know what scheme I'm on but it's a hand for me, logged in or not, no matter what browser I use. Then again, I don't touch FF.

My bad, should have typed "Color Themes"

Click on "Profile" at the top of the page and then click on "Personal Options". Scroll down and you'll see where to adjust your theme settings.

And don't be afraid of FF, you might actually find that you like it. ;)

I did try it. I found I didn't understand why anyone bothered. It isn't better than IE!

Some like it, some don't. Some can't even tell - my dad literally can't tell the difference between the two. But then, he wouldn't be able to explain what an "internet browser" is either. :) I just set it up so that it works, and that's all he needs.

Yeah but why bother? FF gets more security fixes than IE! You are giving him something worse! If he wants more functionality, then you have to teach him what plugins are, where to get them, how to make them work, how to troubleshoot when the browser becomes unstable and you don't know which plugin(s) are doing it.

Way to waste your time and his! Gah, I can't understand why people like that garbage.

I originally switched for tabbed browsing, though IE has that now, too. I like the privacy options and that it doesn't run ActiveX (which is less of an issue with SP2). I have a lot more control over how the browser behaves than I do with IE. I like the extensions which allow me to add functionality to the browser that nothing else does. Even Microsoft is supporting it now (for example, the MSDN subscriber site now works 100% with FireFox, whereas it parts of it didn't work quite right before). Most people will be perfectly fine sticking with IE, but I see FF as more of a power user's browser.

And for what it's worth, I don't have any pointer issues with it.
