I tried IE again and was annoyed. I like having the bookmark toolbar in Firefox, easier to get to all of the sites I visit everyday.

It's just a preference thing... I like my system not to be full of spyware just from typing in www.site.com in the address bar, so I use Firefox.

I also swear by tabbed browsing, and I can't use any browser without it.. (IE)

Quite confused here, as Opera generally offers robust customization of the UI.

You might be a bit more specific.

And also as others said .. the browser toolbar is awesome. I just read (i think it was on this thread) about CTRL + 1 2 3. Never knew about it before.

Moox build is great. but i dont like the ugly logo. downloaded the specific version for my X2 it was very fast.

Yea same here, I felt your pain. But it was much much more annoying when FF first came out, now it's very lean and I like it. The only time I use IE is when I'm required for a particular site, I don't have a single IE link anywhere on my computer so what I do is Start, Run IEXPLORE. Just found out about that pipelining thing and while it's not THAT special, it's nice for the page to load instantaneously! I don't know why FF doesn't have that automatically enabled...

1. Back button at the screen edge.
2. Back/Forward buttons with dropdown menus for multiple stages, preferably using the right mouse button.
3. Navigation controls above the tabs, but with both near the top.
4. Scrollbar at the screen edge.

FF has all of these. I can't get Opera to do any of them. The back button remains 2px from the screen edge, the scrollbar 1px from the edge, and I haven't found how to get a drop-down for back/forward.

You know, it's fully skinnable :p Link
Can the skinning get rid of the 1px border? It's not the look--it's basic UI stuff. Often used targets need to be big and wide--sticking them on a screen edge does this, as it lessens the effect of movement along one axis.

From that, I got the current Moox build for my CPU (1.0.6 m2). FF has now crashed twice. I'm going back to stock :).

2. They call it Rewind and F. Forward. (Tools --> Appearance --> Buttons --> Browser, drag and drop).

1,4: I always used the Scroll wheel, back, and forward buttons on my MX700 to be honest. It could be considered a legitimate complaint, but honestly I like the border.

3. They are  unless I'm misunderstanding you.

These buttons are there, but do nothing more than the back and forward between them. In FF, I flick to the upper-left, right-lick, and get a list of the places I've been.

While I used a mouse with such buttons, I disabled them. If I'm using the keyboard, alt-left, alt-right, work well.

Navigation controls are just under the tabs. The placement options I see do not allow any real granularity.

Above link should suffice as well.

Note the navigation bar has been moved, but can certainly exist between the Main bar and the Page/Tab bar.

Link.
OK, and how do you get that? The -> and >> do the same thing for me--both move one step in their direction, with middle clicks doing nothing, and right clicks just offering the customize option window.

OK, then, that takes care of 25%.

It varies by version and skin. In most versions (and skins), one can simply drag the appropriate button (with the down arrow on the right) onto the main bar.

If you list your version and skin, I can likely give exact steps (I have a large number of versions installed on various physical and virtual machines).

50%, actually.

Am certain there is likely a method to address the other two items mentioned, but I confess that even though I am quite anal-retentive, I am not quite that anal-retentive.
